With this warm weather we've been experiencing lately, more butterflies have been sighted up at Alta, although the numbers of them and diversity of species is sorely lacking as compared to previous years. Predominant at the moment are Pale Swallowtails, a limited number of Monarchs, and recently, coming with the heat wave, Sulfurs. No Western Swallowtails or Mourning Cloaks have been spotted in recent months. And our little Skippers? Where are they? These are usually well represented at this time of the year up at Alta.
